Ms. Tamilore Dairo: Founder & Executive Director
Tami Dairo is a high school student at Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology (GSMST) who is passionate about solving community and global challenges through hands-on leadership.
Tami’s trip to Nigeria with her immigrant parents when she was in middle school exposed her to school pupils from less privileged families and she was amazed in the difference between educational, financial and technological opportunities available for children in United States and the developing world. This experience helped shaped her interest and commitment to United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 5 (Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment) which ultimately led her to found Girls Tower High Inc., a non-profit organization incorporated in the state of Georgia.
Genevieve Kumapley, PharmD, BCOP: Chairperson
Dr. Genevieve Kumapley is the Founder and the Executive Director of MyGOAL, a 501(c)(3) non-profit autism organization established in 2008 in the United States that helps families with limited economic resources access therapies, programs, and information about autism spectrum disorders. She is also the founder of Haven International, a non-profit organization in Ghana, that provides services for individual with intellectual disabilities including Autism and other developmental disabilities.
She is a passionate advocate for families and individuals with Autism. She is a graduate of the New Jersey Partners in Policy Making and Rutgers Institute of Ethical Leadership/Prudential Foundation Non-profit Executive Leadership Fellowship programs. She is committed to serving her community through her roles on several boards as Vice President of Touch Link, a Domestic Violence support organization, and as a Professional Advisory Board member of the Sister2Sister Breast Cancer Organization. Dr. Kumapley is a John Maxwell Certified Speaker, Coach and Trainer.
Tolulope Dairo, MD. MSc. : Vice Chairperson
Dr. Tolulope Dairo is a Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Professional. She earned a diplom in Medicine and Surgery from Moscow Medical Academy I.M. Sechenov, Moscow, Russia. She proceeded to Nigeria after graduation where she became a licensed Physician. She later relocated with her family to the United States. In 2014, she earned a Master’s Degree in Regulatory Affairs for Drugs, Biologics and Medical Devices at Northeastern University Boston, Massachusetts.
For a decade, she worked with fortune 500 companies like Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson as a Senior Scientist and Pharmacological Physician where she focused mainly on pre- and post-marketing drug safety surveillance. Dr. Dairo is also the founder of Tolusworld.com, a platform that focuses primarily on finding solutions to parenting challenges. She is a public speaker and a passionate writer. She has written more than 85 articles on parenting. She is also the host of Let’s Talk Parenting on Instagram. She currently works with Georgia Southwestern State University.
Mojisola Otegbeye (Moji), PhD: Secretary
Moji earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria in 2002. She relocated to the United States in 2004 and earned a Master’s degree in Engineering Management and subsequently a Doctorate in Industrial Engineering in 2010 at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).
While at NJIT, Moji engaged in research activities that led to multifaceted peer-reviewed journal publications that have been well cited by other researchers in the broad fields of operations research, decision sciences, and waste management. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate-level classes at NJIT, she served as a teaching assistant with NJIT’s Upward Bound program, a yearly summer program aimed at helping underserved high school students gain an appreciation of math, science and engineering and, preparing them for college.
Moji has worked in a wide range of industries including the healthcare arena where she’s utilized Industrial Engineering and Operations Research problem-solving techniques to design cost-effective care delivery strategies that enhance the quality of patient care and promote staff satisfaction. She has also worked on orthopedic research studies that have been published in a leading orthopedic journal and presented at orthopedic conferences.
Moji has also collaborated with small to mid-size manufacturing, retail, logistics, and construction companies to identify and implement strategies to improve their financial health through operational excellence and growth improvement strategies.
Femi Amorin, CPA, CGMA: Treasurer
Femi Amorin, CPA, CGMA, is a results-driven and multifaceted professional with expertise and experience within the public and private sector accounting fields with a focus on financial reporting, design, and implementation of internal controls to manage business risks. He demonstrates a strong work ethic to optimize operational efficiency and improve productivity. He has an outstanding ability to address relevant technical issues through systematic and analytical approaches.
Femi is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a master’s degree in finance from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland, the United Kingdom, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics/Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Samaru- Zaria, Nigeria. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is licensed to practice public accounting in the State of New Jersey, New York, and Michigan. He has a wealth of experience in the auditing, banking, and accounting profession, spanning almost 25 years within international accounting firms, banking industry, and public schools.
He supervised the audits of federal, state, and local government agencies, including school districts and non-profit organizations, and recently managed a public school with a budget of $30 million with 1,400 students enrollment spread over four campuses.
Akintayo Sokunbi, MD: Member
Dr. Akintayo Sokunbi, obtained his MBChB in 1998 from the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife, Nigeria. He did his residency training in Internal Medicine at the Detroit Medical center/Wayne State University, Detroit, USA where he also served as the Chief Medical Resident and Junior Faculty of the residency program. He completed his Fellowship training at the Henry Ford Hospital in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and he is currently working as a consultant physician at MidMichigan Health System in Midland Michigan, an affiliate of the University of Michigan.
Dr. Sokunbi’s practice specializes in the care of critically ill medical and surgical patients in the intensive care units. He is an expert in the management of patients on life support. He manages patients with various respiratory problems including Asthma, COPD, lung fibrosis and many more in his outpatient clinic where he practices pulmonary medicine. Dr. Sokunbi is board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine.
He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, American Medical association. He is the chairman of various committees in his current hospital and recipient of several awards. He is also an Assistant Professor at the Michigan State University where he teaches medical students.
Bimisola Dairo: Program and IT assistant
Bimi is a freshman in high school who is passionate about Information Technology and service. She helps in the design and regular update of the organization’s website. She also helps in coordinating Girls Tower High activities/programs.
Najma Jama: Program Assistant/Advisory Board Member
Najma is a high school junior, who loves working with other people, volunteering for charities and teaching at her spare time. Shes uses her creative talents to lead our audiovisual and graphic design projects. As an Advisory Board member, she plays a vital role in the strategic planning and execution of our programs.
Sayo Daniel: Advisory Board Member
Sayo is a high school junior, who enjoys helping and working with other people. She helps in the designing of the Girls Tower High website and the managing of the Instagram account. She also helps in the planning of the organization’s programs.
